The Virginia Health Workforce Development Authority is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board has 19 members: 3 legislative members, the Chairperson of Senate Finance and Appropriations (or designee), the Chairperson of House Appropriations (or designee), 9 non-legislative citizen members appointed by the Governor, and 5 ex officio members: the Commissioner of Health or their designee, the Chancellor of the Virginia Community College System or their designee, and the Director of the Department of Health Professions or their designee, the Director of the Department of Workforce Development and Advancement or their designee, the Director of the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia or their designee.
