Amy Taloma, Ph.D.
DIRECTOR OF VIRGINIA AHEC & PROGRAMS
Prior to this position, Amy served as the Health Care Program Coordinator for the Community College Workforce Alliance, a partnership between Reynolds and Brightpoint Community Colleges, where she developed and implemented healthcare certification programs for adult learners. Previously, she built pipeline and academic enrichment programs to help students select and become competitive applicants for professional health science programs as the Assistant Director for the Division for Health Sciences Diversity at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Amy’s passion is creating and managing innovative initiatives that bolster the healthcare workforce and, in turn, improve healthcare throughout Virginia. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Lynchburg, as well as a Master's Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. In her free time, Amy enjoys traveling to Virginia State Parks to kayak with her husband, two kids, and pups.
